American Legion Riders, Chapter 65
Joining the Rosemount American Legion Riders is easy! The first step to joining is to make sure you are a current member of the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary or Sons of the American Legion. Membership in one of these is required for membership in the American Legion Riders. (Membership does NOT have to be for the same post as the Legion Riders Chapter. We do encourage you to consider joining the Riders at your home post if a chapter is available, however you may join the Legion Riders chapter of your choice at whichever post you wish.)
Second, you must be the legally registered owner of a motorcycle of at least 350cc or be the passenger spouse of a member who is the legally registered owner of a motorcycle of at least 350cc.
If you meet these two qualifications, you are on your way to becoming a Rosemount American Legion Rider.
Begin by downloading and filling out the membership application which you will bring to the next meeting (meetings are the 3rd Sunday of each month at 6:00 pm at the Rosemount American Legion Post 65.)
Standard annual dues are $15.00.
Membership applications may also be brought along with dues to any of the American Legion karaoke nights. Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights are karaoke night at the American Legion and the host of the karaoke is Tom "Diver" Funari who is also the Director of the Legion Riders at present time. Tom can accept membership information with proof of Legion, Auxiliary or SAL membership.
In addition to supporting other Legion Riders chapters throughout the state by joining them on their rides, we will organize rides of our own. These rides will include 1 - 2 major rides where we invite the general public as well as other Legion Riders Chapters to join us, 1 major benefit ride yearly beginning on the first anniversary of our inaugural ride (Last Saturday in September), and many rides where just a few of us get together and lead each other. We are looking into a pre-meeting ride of an hour or two, however, this may not be able to be started up until the beginning of the 2010 riding season.
